The Naijamp3express DJ of the Year is an annual award presented by Naijamp3express to recognize and celebrate the DJ who demonstrates outstanding performance, consistency and commitment through the Naijamp3express Monthly Mixtapes throughout the year.

The award was created to give special recognition to DJs who continuously contribute to the growth and promotion of music through the Naijamp3express monthly mixtape platform.

Unlike a general popularity award, the Naijamp3express DJ of the Year is primarily determined by a DJ’s participation and performance in the Naijamp3express Monthly Mixtapes. The DJ who mixes the highest number of qualifying monthly mixtapes while meeting the required standards has a strong opportunity to earn the award.

How the Naijamp3express Monthly Mixtape Works

Naijamp3express releases a monthly mixtape throughout the year, making a total of 12 monthly mixtapes in a calendar year.

Each monthly edition is handled by selected DJs. The number of DJs participating in the monthly mixtape program may vary, with a minimum of three (3) DJs and a maximum of nine (9) DJs participating, depending on the year and the requirements established by Naijamp3express.

DJs are expected to deliver quality mixes that meet the standards and requirements set by Naijamp3express.

How the DJ of the Year Is Determined

The Naijamp3express DJ of the Year is based on a DJ’s overall performance throughout the Naijamp3express Monthly Mixtape program.

Among the important considerations are:

• Number of Naijamp3express monthly mixtapes mixed by the DJ.
• Consistency throughout the year.
• Quality of the mixes.
• Ability to meet Naijamp3express monthly mixtape requirements.
• Compliance with the required submission standards.
• Overall contribution to the Naijamp3express Monthly Mixtape project.

The requirements and selection criteria for the Naijamp3express DJ of the Year may be reviewed, updated or changed by Naijamp3express from year to year. This allows the award to maintain a fair and relevant standard as the Naijamp3express Monthly Mixtape program continues to grow.

12 Months. One Annual Recognition.

The Naijamp3express Monthly Mixtape program runs across all 12 months of the year. DJs therefore have opportunities throughout the year to demonstrate their consistency and quality.

At the end of the annual cycle, Naijamp3express reviews the performance of the participating DJs and determines the DJ who best meets the requirements for the year’s award.

This makes every monthly mixtape important.

Every mix contributes to a DJ’s record for the year, while consistency and quality can make the difference when determining the eventual winner.

When Will the Winner Be Announced?

The Naijamp3express DJ of the Year winner will normally be announced around August or September.

The announcement allows Naijamp3express to publicly recognize the year’s winner ahead of the official award presentation.

However, the actual presentation of the Naijamp3express DJ of the Year award will take place in December during the Naijamp3express Annual Show.

The Annual Show will serve as the official occasion for presenting the award to the winner.

The Naijamp3express Annual Show is the platform where the year’s achievement is formally celebrated and the DJ of the Year award is presented.

The December presentation gives the award a special place within the Naijamp3express annual celebration and provides an opportunity to recognize the winning DJ in front of other DJs, artists, music lovers, Naijamp3express supporters and members of the entertainment community.

It recognizes DJs who do more than participate once or twice. It celebrates those who consistently contribute to the Naijamp3express Monthly Mixtape program and maintain the required standard throughout the year.

As Naijamp3express continues to develop its monthly mixtape platform, the award will also continue to evolve.
